In the darkness before the dawn
In the swirling of the storm
When I’m rolling with the punches and hope is gone
Leave a light, a light on
Millions of miles from home
In the swirling swimming on
When I’m rolling with the thunder
But bleed from thorns
Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on
In the darkness before the dawn
In the darkness before the dawn
Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on
The breakdown at 2:20 gives me chills everytime I hear it. It's like releasing all your emotions without saying a word. Very powerful vocals an music colliding touches my soul.
This song is an expression of regret, sadness, isolation but still trying to believe in the possibility of change. It’s a person’s mind and soul at their weakest point, willing to give everything up to not deal with life’s tortures anymore. The moment between suicidal thoughts and trying to be optimistic.
Best way to listen to this:
In a car, on a backroad, surrounded by woods, at night, in the snowy wintertime, alone, with moonlight shining through the sunroof, headlights reflecting off the road signs, following the road on a seemingly never ending journey...
Don’t thank me, thank a friend of mine for that.

In the darkness before the dawn
In the swirling of this storm
When I'm rolling with the punches and hope is gone
Leave a light, a light on
Millions of miles from home
In the swirling swimming on
When I'm rolling with the thunder but bleed from thorns
Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on
In the darkness before the dawn
In the darkness before the dawn
Leave a light, a light on

I don't know why, but this song reminds me of the galaxy, and the dark reality we live in. But at the same time, Sky Full of Stars brings this image to my head, the stars overhead, the world lit up, but the dark is still there. I can believe in both, right?
