In my silence, I would love to forget
Restitution hasn’t come quite yet
And with one accord I keep pushing forth
I stretch my heart to heal some more
It used to be all I’d want to learn
Was wisdom trust and truth
But now all I really want to learn
Is forgiveness for you
As my seasons change, I’ve now grown to know
When one’s heart creates, one’s soul doesn’t owe
So I wash away stains of yesterday
Then tempt my heart with love’s display
It used to be all I’d want to learn
Was wisdom trust and truth
But now all I really want to learn
Is forgiveness for you
Whether you are religious or not, we all need to understand and learn how to forgive. I used to think if I forgave someone, I was letting them off the hook for the wrong they did me. I now know that we forgive others and we do it for "Ourselves". It removes the anger and bitterness we carry around towards someone else. If we don't forgive, the hatred will eat you alive from the inside out. To forgive is to help heal yourself and in doing so, you will learn wisdom, trust and truth.
This has been my favorite band for some time. Their songs have very deep and meaningful lyrics. The singers were learned people. We can all stand to listen to collective soul and apply the lyrics to our lives.....You can not be a worse person for listening to this music. I can't say the same about many other types of music.
Man, it took me awhile. Years. Sometimes I'm not sure if I got it right? I keep trying. This song is a Godsend. Mixed emotions. I keep trying. Crazy, it is. One day I will "get" it.
Working on it.
The /definition / of forgiveness can b " learned " , but only through music can its ( meaning ) be
" understood ". This is an excellent example of the difference between the definition and meaning of a WORD in how we apply it. Strike up the band, all players must stay in step with the universal language..." music ".
