It's an old song re-done by many bands. My personal favourite version is the in extremo one. I think it's an old celtic folk song about a troll who loves a human man or something to that extent

its about a troll/dragon/demon/spreirt that trys to trick a young man/woman into parting with his soul/marrying it by offering more and more extravagant gifts includeing 2000 war horses and a crystal blade.
