About all the scabs you dread, but i can feel it s just a little more Jr, don t think i don t know
From the knife wounds you got, to peel them off no more
Please come pat me on the head, from the knife wounds you got
Just unscrew the top, i hope somehow you ll know i understand Jar, in a jar the scars are plain to see
i hope somehow you ll know i understand
All i could do was lick your hand, scabs collect beneath your bureau
Just unscrew the top, just unscrew the top Dinosaur, please come pat me on the head
Scabs collect beneath your bureau, i ll be grazing by your window
I hope somehow you ll know i understand, i know you don t have the patience
in a jar where you fed me
but i can feel it s just a little more
Cause i look cute by your bed, babe you know it
You know i m your new start, i just want to find out what you re nice to me for
then you smile and decide to take me in
About all the scabs you dread, cause i look cute by your bed
it s hard to stomach the gore
In a jar the scars are plain to see, in a jar where you fed me, i know you don t have the patience
When i look up, when i look up In, scabs collect beneath your bureau
Don t think i don t know, i ll be grazing by your window, to peel them off no more
Just unscrew the top, but i can feel it s just a little more, i ll be grazing by your window
I saw Dinosaur at Glastonbury in 2013, still absolutely kicking it, like a bunch of demented teenagers. Definitely one of the most underrated bands of all time.
Dinosaur Jr. was one of the best bands of the 80's and early 90's. Up there just beneath The Jesus and March Chain and the Pixies, and about even with Sonic Youth rounding out the top four or five.
im a punk rock dinosaur from the early 80's and of everything i have ever heard this easily makes my top 10 list of favorite songs of all time. Its not music, its art and its a master piece! If you don't get it, First realize who is on guitar on how revolutionary his style of playing is... and then listen to the bass player! This band is world class master musicians, its why they get away with the poor singing like they do! And in this song the bass player is like Oh yeah...i can play too! As far as bass playing goes, id put this song second only to Cliff Burton's famous "bass solo, take one." off Ride the Lighting and that is saying a lot!
This band was originally called "Dinosaur" and was sued by a more wealthy band called "The Dinosaurs" hence the junior. In other words, this album is properly called "Dinosaur." I owned the original, trust me, this is Dinosaur. I was there, this album is Dinosaur for sure. Just setting the record straight.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm picking up a very noticeable vibe from The Cure on this song, particularly with the bassline & how it's played. I do know that Dinosaur Jr. covered The Cure, but I wonder if J Mascis & company were influenced by The Cure (at least, to a small degree).
I'll be grazing by your window
Please come pat me on the head
I just want to find out what you're nice to me for
When I look up, don't think I don't know
About all the scabs you dread
It's hard to stomach the gore
I know you don't have the patience
To peel them off no more
In a jar where you believe
All I could do was lick your hand
In a jar the scars are plain to see
I hope somehow you'll know I understand
I'll be grazing by your window
Please come pat me on the head
I just want to find out what you're nice to me for
Then you smile and decide to take me in
'cause I look you by your bed
But I can feel it just a little more
I'll watch you fall apart, babe you know it
You know I'm young and stuff, babe don't blow it
Just unscrew the top, yeah
Pick me up now just can't stop
In a jar where you believe
All I could do was lick your hand
In a jar where scars are plain to see
I hope somehow you'll know I understand
Scabs collect beneath your bureau
From the knife wounds you got
