This is pure gold - Django on electric guitar! Sonds like proto-Wes! I've found a Holy Grail.

I have heard people say that after Django switched from acoustic to electric guitar, he lost the subtleties that made his playing great. I just don't understand that opinion. His electric playing sounds amazing. In my opinion even better than Charlie Christian (another player I love). Django on electric reminds me of Joe Pass, who came much later.

Django played better than most guitar players with just two fingers...imagine what he could have done if he only had one finger.

He seems more focused on certain techniques and particular style elements than showing off how good he is. People are too stuck on skill level and comparison. Art and competition do not mix. He's a true power player that's for sure. He plays this stuff on what amounts to an acoustic guitar with a neck pickup. I hear bends and lots of serious left hand stuff. He's a strong player I think strength is what makes a great player a phenomenon. Hearing it in your head is one thing but playing it?

he died to young! I would have loved to hear him rip on a telecaster. he sounds really good on this electric, though.
