In a class by himself. Unquestionably, he's a genius on the keyboard. This particular piece is so melodic and Erroll does it so well.! No school can teach this. It has to be natural.
when I saw Eugen Cicero on Lake Constance end of the 90s he talked about how he would have loved to have had the left hand of Errol Garner ! ! that's what I call praise....
George Shearing, the great British jazz pianist who settled in the USA wrote Lullaby of Birdland...and he loved Erroll's versions best of all, which is a measure of Shearing's esteem for Garner.
