This song is an epic outcry from the disco era - I was there as a child and lived through it. God bless George McCrae. It was an era of freedom and prosperity like never before, nor since seen - can you imagine....my mother and I as an 8 yr old kid moved a long way across Canada. She wanted a job and when she went to apply for one, they asked her " Which one do you want ? " . I used to stay up at night till 1 a.m. dancing to all the glorious disco songs. I feel sorry for all who weren't there to experience it, sadly you missed possibly the best time in North American prosperity, fun, happiness, and epic great music!
In the summer of 1974 it was you and me Bernie, I know your in heaven now and you will always be with me every time I hear this song I can't help but remembering all the good times we had, I will always love you xoxoxo RIP Return If Possible...Helen ❤️
My father passed away in February this year, apart from the sudden hospital visit I hadn't seen him in years, after his funeral i was drinking at my Nans house with my dads best mates and asked what was my Dads favorite song, so i could play it on the speakers.......they didn't really have an answer but they said put George McCrae rock your Baby this was his jam. Ive never heard this song until now and what a ripper, i am proud.
"Rock Your Baby" is the debut single by George McCrae. Written and produced by Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch of KC and the Sunshine Band, "Rock Your Baby" was one of the landmark recordings of early disco music. - Wikipedia
