I first heard this song in 1956 in Memphis, TN. I was in the Marines. Just flunked Marine Pilot training because of a bad ear. They offered me Aviation Electronics School at Memphis. I was in a bad way. Wanted to be a Pilot since I was 5 yrs old. This song gave me the Ok to keep on keeping on. Thank you Gogi Grant for saving my life.

Love the windy sound in the background especially the end; Sounds like the wind of a passing tornado. R.i.p Gogi

I heard this on a real-to-real tape recorder one time. It's a beautiful song and I like that horn.

Well it is now Jan 12, 2020 and this great song is still great to hear. One of those songs I shall like as long as I live. It has something no other song has which is hard to describe.

Now it is 2019 and I am relaxing from work hearing this excellent song. I always liked it and still do. I think it is the best Gogi Grant recorded. Her voice is just right for the song which is special in many ways and different from other songs.

I was ten when this beautiful song was released, it is very nice to hear and stirred up my imagination. I wondered what kind of man it referred to. The voice of the singer is outstanding and she sang this song with so much feeling it made me feel when I heard it as a kid. One of those timeless tunes, it has something special making it different from all other songs. And it is still one of my favorites.

Some songs are best when the original artist sings it. This Gogi’s song.

This was my grandfathers favorite song I remember every time I would play it for home he was smile and start singing along. I love and cherish this memory of my grandfather. My 6 month old baby loves to hear this when he’s fussy I put it on and he instantly calms down. The only way he will go to sleep is listening to this song

My mom, a southern black woman in every sense, bought this and played it for me when I was very young. She told me later that she received a lot of flack when she played this for some of her friends, so she played it in private. So this song became our little secret for years. We were both die-hard blues and R&B fans, but, what she tried to teach me is that good music is good music and to not be afraid to like what you like. This song is one pleasure I will never feel guilty about. Thanks Gogi and thanks Mom.

The arrangement of this version adds so much to it, the way the strings, chorus and French horn combine perfectly to make that mysterious and unique sound. Whoever it was who worked with Ms. Grant to make this arrangement deserves special credit. I think the arrangement inspired her singing as well. Awesome song.

One of my most favorite and memorable songs in my whole life. I heard PATSY SING THIS TOO , THESE GIRLS WERE BOTH BRILLIANT, AND GIVE THIS CLASSIC, A FEELING EACH IN THEIR OWN WAY, AND RIGHT NOW I AM IN THE DEPTHS OF NOSTALGIA , ITS BEAUTIFUL AND SAD ALL AT THE SAME TIME.
