Perhaps Hank Jones was the most subtle, the least flamboyant, of the great jazz pianists.  As noted below, he was, indeed, the "thinking man's pianist." Hank Jones was born in 1918 in Vicksburg, MS; died in 2010, at the age of 91, in Manhattan. Some people say that the vibrations, the rhythms and the harmonies of music stimulate the cells of the body: orchestra conductors are supposed to be the longest-lived profession.  With the exception of those felled by unnatural death, many jazz musicians have also lived into their 80's or 90's.  To cite just one example, Dave Brubeck also lived to the age of 91.
