These song remind me of when I was a young child listening to my parents records on the console...amazing memories and wonderful music...I have those old scratched records still....Moon River by Mancini bring tears to my eyes remembering my Dad.....
this song is so beautiful the movie is so sad and is so close to home too close i have loved the same man for 40 years and for the last 13 years he has been drunk more than sober , sorry to be so blunt but today was a really bad day sometimes it is hard to face the day for him and for me i keep praying some how he will stop , maybe some one will see this post and pray too♥
Todd, Moon River and Days of Wine and Roses were my parents two favorite songs. My dad could really sing. I remember watching them dance in the living room with the records on there stereo. It brings back wonderful times. I miss my dad so much, and I cannot listen to one of these without tears in my eyes and be so thankful for the wonderful childhood I had. I still drive by the house we grew up in and I can see my dad on the front porch. late 60s and 70s seemed so different than now. Best wishes
What a hauntingly lovely piece of music!! I remember going to the theatre when the movie was released and people just cried and cried at the end of it. Very, very sad; the music and lyrics capture the emotion of it all. Johnny Mercer & Henry Mancini....nothing finer!!
probably the theme for which Mancini is known best by. Absolutely beautiful. The musicis in direct contrast to the serious theme of the film - alcoholism.
grandmom joyce, I will pray for you and your husband and members of my own family. The drink can really get its hold, and I think in the final scene she looks into the window reflection herself, this is what the person needs, to see the reality, the devestation, I pray for myself to continue to be part of the solution and not an enabler, part of the problem...I love roses!
