All of your trials, wonderin how i made it
think you re happy
What about your tribulations, someone should care, i wish someone would care
Someone should care, for no one and i wish, sitting home alone
Someone should care, to lots of them
don t you think
Someone should care, for no one and i wish
And how long, all of your trials
And failure s, don t you think, someone should care
Success has come, thinkin about my past, think you re happy
Sitting home alone, someone should care, someone should care
success has come
someone would care
All of your trials, it s gonna last Thomas, someone should care
Someone should care, someone should care Thomas, sitting home alone
Someone would care, and think about yourself Someone, to lots of them
someone should care
Think you re happy, someone should care
All of this goes too, someone should care, don t you think
don t you think
And failure s, think you re happy
Someone would care, don t you think, i wish someone would care
Someone should care, don t you think
and think about yourself
This is one of my then boyfriend's favorite song. We danced many times to this soul classic. He passed away some years ago, but I have good memories of our time together.
Thank you for you for posting this Irma Thomas classic. I heard it on the HBO series, "TREME". Another artist was covering it, however, a good song is a good song. The words still carry the same meaning and fill your heart with compassion. I like the artists' cover, however, I LOVE Irmas' original. Thank you, again, for posting this song. As you listen, please think of the meaning. The world would be a much better place, if we took Irmas' advice and begin to "care". May the universe be kind to you and yours.

This brings back memories, Hot summer night, somebody's parents gone, only one red bulb , 40 teenagers stuffed into a living room, slowdancing, sweating profusely. lol those were the days
Cry, cry
Sitting home alone, thinkin' about my past
Wonderin' how I made it, and how long it's gonna last
Success has come to lots of them, and failure's always there
Time, time waits for no one and I wish, how I wish someone would care
Some folks think you're happy, when you wear your smile
What about your tribulations, and all, all of your trials
Smiles, smiles hide a lots a things
The good, the bad, the hurt, all of this goes too
And I wish, how I wish, how I wish someone would care
I wish someone would care
Don't you think someone should care?
Ah don't you think someone should care?
Sit down and think about yourself
Ah don't you think someone should care?
Mm, don't you think someone should care?
Ah don't you think someone should care?
I grew up in Baton Rouge and remember that you could always find Irma playing somewhere in South Louisiana on any given Weekend. Probably took her for granted back in the day, but I sure don't now. A real treasure.
