Coming from a black family, Father in the military, I was a service brat. I was born 1957, grew up with Motown and Soul music.
When my father was station in Germany (1968 - 1970) the family had to go too.. what an experience... no T.V. no Radio. we read books and I got into making stuff (because of this to this day I am an inventor) as a hobby .... one day an Air force buddy of my Dad was headed back to the states... he happened to be the Air force base disk-jockey and he had loads of 45, 33, and 78 rpm records of every category he had to dump because of weight... so He gave them to me... long story short, I made an old fashion record player with just a needle cardboard and a toy motor... it open a window to all sorts of music to me... one of them was "Honeycomb" by Jimmy Rodgers... it was great... but....
then it came our turn to head back to the states... My pop had to get rid of hundreds of my beloved collection. I have not heard this song until today... its been over 50 years.... I can't tell you how much I appreciate hearing this song now... you know... its like meeting an old childhood friend.... all the memories come. thank you for uploading
