You said you want me, baby, I’m glad
I feel so good now, 'cause you’re not mad
Please believe me, I’m saving my love for you
We’ll be together, and it won’t be long
I’ll make you love me from that day on
Please believe me, I’m saving my love for you
Can’t you remember last September?
We kissed and we said goodbye
I pretended that I was happy
But, darling, I wanted to cry
We’ll be together, and it won’t be long
I’ll make you love me from that day on
Please believe me, I’m saving my love for you
Listening to 45s was a chore in itself . You only sat and listened because every three minutes it was back to the turntable. Then they invented a way to stack the 45s and they would drop down one at a time. A cool time to be a teenager.
This song was stolen from a group called the Dynamics that was signed to Roulette Records in the 50’s. My father wrote this song and I have the original recording that features then studio musicians Chuck Berry and King Curtis. Amazing I should find this so many years later praising this song that was stolen back in the days of payola.
I first heard Johnny Ace when I was a teen I had some friends who were in the Marine Corp Two great guys I was living in the Town Of Quantico Va.When I heard he had died I was in shock .What a loss
I was listening to Johnny Ace when I was about 8-10 years old. My older sister was required to drag me along with her to the record parties, usually held at someone's garage. They'd play his records a lot!
