To those of you asking whether this is Samba or Bossa Nova, the answer is NEITHER.
Jorge Ben created a style of his own that confused music critics at first, as they could not define it neither as Samba nor Bossa Nova. It definitely has elements of both, but it cannot be fully classified as one or the other.
His music is unique - it has elements of Samba, Bossa Nova, Rock (creator of Samba-Rock), Swing, Funk, Pop, Soul...
That's exactly one of the reasons why he is so great in Brazil and even worldwide - he wasn't doing what others were doing in Brazil back then (early 60's), which was pretty much imitating the Bossa Nova music of Tom Jobim and João Gilberto.
If he was just copying a genre, no one would know who he is now.
