Of all the covers, Steve Miller's stands out because he rewrites the whole sound and upshot of the song. Lindley does a great sendup as well, but he just doesn't torque it like Miller, making it a different song almost. American music that all the world tries to imitate, thousands of young men from England, Ireland, Germany training their voices so they sound like they are anything but European. Jaeger, Van Morrison, Robert Plant. Hell, the Bee Gees. Everything you want, we got it right here in the USA.
