Ta means life;
Na means death;
Ma means rebirth.

A friend wrote to me asking what the meaning is of Sa Ta Na Ma, found in this enchanting piece of music. Here's what I wrote in reply.
"The primal sounds Sa,Ta,Na,Ma have a literal Sanskrit connotation (meaning if you will): Sa means birth (some say infinity); Ta means life; Na means death; and Ma means rebirth.
I actually had to look this up on Google. I only knew this as the notes in the Indian scale, but the meaning is lovely.
So next time you need to know the meaning of something beautiful, forget about Google, just ask me. For I am not a machine like poor, mindless, brilliant Google who cannot appreciate love and beauty. I am a glorious human being with feelings, so I can listen to this magical music and weep with love as it opens the window of my heart. Thank you for introducing it to me!"
