Scanning the other comments, all I can see is stuff about how cool this song is, how cool the effects are, and how this song was in World War Z. I don't know if any of you actually realize the scary truth behind this song. Granted, the video is an artist's depiction of an event we can never comprehend (and quite possibly, never see). Regardless, this is a future we are heading toward. If you pay attention to the song preceding this one, The 2nd Law: Unsustainable, the message in that is that we, as the human race, are destroying our home. I wouldn't say I'm super-green, but there are definitely things we need to worry about.
Please pay attention to the message Muse is trying to send us. I understand that environmentalism has been heard of unfavorably, but there are a lot of very simple things you can do that can save the planet. I'm not asking you to change anything. I'm just asking that you think more about this topic because we are heading down an unsustainable path, and, quite frankly, it scares the hell out of me.
this video is heartbreaking. this thing is wiping them of everything they are. makes them something they're not. in the end she decides to chose her death instead of letting it take it from her. that's some strong shit. its especially meaningful if you try to understand the 2nd Law that this album is named after
This song makes me realise how small our planet is. We're a completely isolated race with no way to reach any other civilisation, and yet we are tearing ourselves apart. All the politics, conflict and unrest in the world is utterly pointless and yet it's consequences are devastating. As a result we have at most 200 years in which to enjoy the rest of our pitiful existence, consisting of starvation, war and anarchy. Unless we actually divert funds from arms into scientific advancement and implement a democratic socialist system of governing, but who am I kidding...
