Grunge meets punk. Neil Young was really at the top of his game here. I was blown away by this album. Listen to that distortion! It's really over the top. There's more to the picture.

I was 19 years old when Rust Never Sleeps was released. It seems like it was just yesterday. Just as badass today as it was back then. Thank you Neil.

That is just the thickest, blackest, nastiest tone. So tasty.

Dunno how they created that "steel plates slamming together" sound, but it's compelling.

That intro has gotta be the sludgiest one out there. Just so great! Gotta be one of my favorites!

So supposedly the amp barely lasted through the recording with this song.

Quite possibly the most distortion I have ever heard in a song. It doesn’t even sound like music it sounds like quick explosions. I love it!!!

Neil sounds like he's trying not to laugh during the Johnny Rotten part.

I remember when he came out with this. It was awesome. With this, he pretty much said, "I am Neil Young. That's it. Make what you will of me. Take it or leave it."

My Dad recorded this album onto a cassette tape, and back when I was about 3 or 4 years old we'd listen to it when we drove to the city. At the end of 'Hey Hey, My My' the tape would click a couple of times and the song would start over. When I asked him why he said, "There was some room left on the tape, and the song is so good I knew I'd want to listen to it again". We'd listen to it twice every time. Good memories.
