Till our dog died that year, he loves his workshop and rock n roll
he taught me to drive and to fight and to dream
Rust ridden fenders and doors full of dings, he doesn t fight crime or wear a cape Wear, and you could say he s a man of few words
he loves his workshop and rock n roll
rust ridden fenders and doors full of dings
when he looks in my eyes
when he looks in my eyes
And even though i m a little taller, i didn t think he knew how to cry, he doesn t always say i love you
He s got a hot rod and a heart of gold, my dad s a hero to me
somehow he can fix about anything
He built me a house in the arms of a tree, my dad s a hero to me Not, he built me a house in the arms of a tree
He s my superman, he doesn t fight crime or wear a cape
Cause they haven t met my dad, somehow he can fix about anything
He loves his workshop and rock n roll, he built me a house in the arms of a tree
Rust ridden fenders and doors full of dings, somehow he can fix about anything
cause they haven t met my dad
he built me a house in the arms of a tree
but he talks a lot within
When he looks in my eyes, he loves his workshop and rock n roll, i hope he can see that
When he looks in my eyes, but every time my world needs saving, i hope he can see that
My dad s a hero to me, when he looks in my eyes Wear, he s my superman
He taught me to drive and to fight and to dream, i hope he can see that Capes, he loves his workshop and rock n roll
he doesn t read minds or levitate
when he looks in my eyes
He built me a house in the arms of a tree, when he looks in my eyes
He loves his workshop and rock n roll, my dad s a hero to me
Rust ridden fenders and doors full of dings, i didn t think he knew how to cry
He built me a house in the arms of a tree, he built me a house in the arms of a tree, but i can hear him loud and clear
i didn t think he knew how to cry
he built me a house in the arms of a tree
He built me a house in the arms of a tree, when he looks in my eyes Wear, my dad s a hero to me
Rust ridden fenders and doors full of dings, some folks don t believe in heroes
And you could say he s a man of few words, he built me a house in the arms of a tree
but every time my world needs saving
Till our dog died that year, when he looks in my eyes Not, i hope he can see
"And you could say he’s a man of few words
But he talks a lot within"
"He doesn’t always say I love ya
But I can hear him loud and clear"
Yup, that's dad. He doesn't talk much but you just knew what he meant.
i remember waking up to the angry voice of the drunk father telling me how worthless i am and how he regret to have me as his son. but i dont hate him. i always do my best to make him proud, i wish i could hear his voice saying "i love you son". after all. hes all i got

Not All Heroes Wear Capes
.
.
.
.
He doesn't fight crime
Or wear a cape
He doesn't read minds
Or levitate
But every time my world needs saving
He's my Superman
Some folks don't believe in heroes
'Cause they haven't met my dad
He loves his workshop
And rock 'n roll
He's got a hot rod
And a heart of gold
And you could say he's a man of few words
But he talks a lot within
And even though I'm a little taller
I still look up to him
He built me a house in the arms of a tree
He taught me to drive and to fight and to dream
When he looks in my eyes I hope he can see that
My dad's a hero to me
Rust ridden fenders
And doors full of dings
Somehow he can fix about anything
I didn't think he knew how to cry
'Til our dog died that year
He doesn't always say I love you
But I can hear him loud and clear
He built me a house in the arms of a tree
He taught me to drive and to fight and to dream
When he looks in my eyes I hope he can see
That my dad's a hero to me
He built me a house in the arms of a tree
He taught me to drive and to fight and to dream
When he looks in my eyes I hope he can see
That my dad's a hero to me
My dad's a hero to me
My dad's a hero to me
I don't know my dad. Haven't seen him, not even once. He died before I was even born. I was just a month old in my mother's womb when he died because of accident. All I see are pictures of him. I wonder if he even know me once I meet him in heaven. Honestly, I don't know what to do when that time comes. But he is still my father, even if i don't know him. We will see each other, I hope.
"I didn't know he knew to cry
Til our dog died that year"
This hit me so hard because our dog died just a few months ago and that was the first time i saw my dad cry. And also the first time we(me my bro &my dad) cried together in each other's arms. Cause my brother and dad share a very strained relationship and our dog was the only thing that brought them together.
