My wife and I hit a rut in our marriage. She was bitter towards me. We barely spoke. We slept in the same bed but we there was definite and deep void between us. It was cold and vast. I listened to this song and the phrase “Bring back memories of a good life when this love was not so old” also when said “I sometimes wonder why all the flowers have to die” and I remembered back to when her and I first moved in together and the twinkle she always had in her beautiful blue eyes. I realized I missed the beautiful flower I knew she was. I stopped and picked her some wild flowers that day on my way home and pulled her to me and kissed her and said I miss you come back to me. I put this song on and asked her to listen to it. We sat on the couch and she cried I leaned to hug her and we ended up making love the rest of the night. Thank you Paul for this classic. We are much better now.

Music is so powerful. I was a student at Michigan State University in the early 80s staying in Landon Hall. I remember walking through the snow at night near my dorm playing this song on my walkman. I was a freshman in college and just learning what it meant to love a girl. I learned early in life to always listen to the lyrics of a song as well as the music. Listen for the message. This and many other songs of that era are the soundtrack to my life. Thanks for some great memories.
