i was listening to this song on my way home from work and i had to stop it the moment it said "now in the chapel" and when i got home i ran to hug my wife and told her how much i love her and how lucky i was to be with her.

A great song from a truly great bygone era that will never come again, but for those of us who were alive then hearing a song like this will keep the great memories alive forever.

My best Childhood friend Laura Fischer died in a tragic Automobile Accident on December 17th 1977 In our Hometown of Westland, Michigan. Laura had just turned 17 the day before she died and this sung was song at her funeral. I was very heartbroken and devastated for years. We did every thing together from grade school right up to our junior year of High School when she tragically lost her life Dear friend Laura Fischer may you Rest In Peace Laura Fischer December 16th 1960 to December 17th 1977.

I am watching tell Laura i love her by Ray Peterson now and about 10 mins into the video it made me cry, because it made me think of my girlfriend who was riding home with her mom and her little sister and the roads were slippery and her mom lost control went into a skid, then the car flipped and I was sitting in the back with her she was only 13 years old rip I love you baby

Back in 1960s, when I was as young as 15, I heard this song for the first time on the then popular “Listener’ Choice Program” of the All-India-Radio. Unlike other English songs, this particular song was telling an interesting story that was tragic in nature. It involved a very young race-car-driver who dies in an accident. Before dying, he passes on a telephonic message to his girl friend through her mother. Please listen to his message in this song. When I now look back, I realize that this song was also helpful in learning and understanding English with is NOT my mother tongue at all!

Good song. But didn't they use to called these songs teenage death splatter platters. Something I heard years ago.
