This music to me is pure class and will match any music of all times and todays music, simple and very rich in creative soul artistry. in fact it tends to touch one's soul in a very groovy romantic way. Perfection in its own way, for me top ten of all time greats. I only discovered it in 2011 and since then it does it for me.
I used know Rick thru the nightclubs I used to frequent in the early eighties. He was really nice guy but I never knew he was a singer, he never gave it the big un.
Great Britain's Rick Clarke is hella' talented, and this is definitely one of the most overlooked R&B songs from out of the 80's. This "chune" should've been a smash hit, it's as smooth a freshly churned butter...
i've still got his album from 87/88. Spent long summers listenning to them in London.
Loved the way he was so understated. It made a change from some of the daft British Soul acts that were around at the time.
You will not believe how long I have searched for this song! At least 20 years. I Googled it to no avail. Of course, I did not know the artist. Only a few words from the lyrics. Thanks for posting.
Ahh you just gotta love Rick Clarke!! Glad to see Nigera was rocking to this tune in the 80's it certainly had made an impact in Zimbabwe in the late 80's too. Shoutout if you need more Rick Clarke....
Oh serious wooing stuff. What days these were, all the chat ups, smooching, crazy cocktails, rip off prices. But, this era will never be beaten. One of my favourite bands, Loose Ends, 52nd Street and Kleeer.
