From a Marvin Gaye fan, "this is my favourite version of this song. I loved it when it was first released, and I will love it till the day I die"

more relevant today than ever and an insanely brilliant rendition by Mr. Cool himself of the original gem.

Probably the best song he ever recorded, and he recorded very many truly wonderful songs. He gave it all he had to give. I love, revere and adore this man.

You NEVER saw Robert Palmer perform without suit and tie instead of rags and his underwear showing. He respected his audience his music and himself The epitome of a CLASS ACT!!

I am old, (74), and into jazz and standards, however, I also love 50's thru 80's rock This man was a genius. Judging by the number of hits on this video, many of you agree.

Absolutely gorgeous this song and highlights the fact that the environment was being polluted back in the early 1970's when Marvin Gaye sang it, let alone when Robert Palmer recorded his own version in 1990! Everything has certainly gone pear shaped with so much animosity, agression and confusion in the world today that it's just too sad to think about! Bring back the 1960's flower power generation....we just don't need power hungry politicians, fat-cat business people, religious maniacs and brainwashed fools anymore!

Mister Robert Allen Palmer sang every kinda song as well as it could be sung.  Still makes me wanna cry that he's gone.

One of the best songs ever and probably one of the most underrated artists of the 20th century.

His phrasing and voice are awesome. Marvin Gaye was no lightweight, not an easy song to cover without just trying to imitate Marvin

Don’t kid yourself folks. This cover is one of the best covers of any song ever. To sing to this arrangement isn’t easy. To pull it off so convincingly an artist has to understand every NUANCE of this song and THEN have the skill to do it. Brilliant job Robert. We love you.
