i can fan the fames but i can t make a spark
If looks could kill then i would not be going under, if looks could kill i would be long since gone, if looks could kill
And a bar to pour my heart out to and make it right, go on and let your lawyer make a deal Could, and i don t have to tell myself it s real
But i came home to face your ice and steel, there s a fire that s burning in your eyes not in your heart, to shed this worn out skin so thick and learn to fly
If looks could kill then i would not be going crazy, and i don t have to tell myself it s real
Go on and let your lawyer make a deal, if today weren t just like any day perhaps i d try, if looks could kill then i d be deep in peaceful slumber
If looks could kill then i d be deep in peaceful slumber, i can fan the fames but i can t make a spark, that works well enough to turn a heartache into dust
To shed this worn out skin so thick and learn to fly, that works well enough to turn a heartache into dust
and a bar to pour my heart out to and make it right
If looks could kill then i d be deep in peaceful slumber, if looks could kill
if looks could kill i would be gone today
if looks could kill my heart would beat no more
If today weren t just like any day perhaps i d try, if looks could kill then i would not be going under
If today weren t just like any day perhaps i d try, if looks could kill then i d be deep in peaceful slumber Rodney, if looks could kill then i would not be going under
But i came home to face your ice and steel, if looks could kill
i don t like the way i make you feel
If looks could kill, if looks could kill then i d be deep in peaceful slumber
if looks could kill then i would not be going under
If looks could kill then i d be pushing up your daisies, if today weren t just like any day perhaps i d try Looks, i can fan the fames but i can t make a spark
if today weren t just like any day perhaps i d try
If looks could kill then i d be deep in peaceful slumber, if looks could kill then i would not be going under Crowell, if looks could kill then i would not be going under
i would be long since gone
That works well enough to turn a heartache into dust, there s a stool that i ve been glued to for so many nights
if today weren t just like any day perhaps i d try
if looks could kill i would be long since gone
If looks could kill then i would not be going crazy, if looks could kill my heart would beat no more
If looks could kill i would be gone today, if today weren t just like any day perhaps i d try, if looks could kill
if looks could kill then i d be deep in peaceful slumber
And i don t have to tell myself it s real, if looks could kill i would be long since gone, i don t like the way i make you feel
I would be long since gone, there s a fire that s burning in your eyes not in your heart Crowell, if looks could kill then i would not be going under
if looks could kill i would be gone today
He was one of the most underrated singer and performer as someone said on here. I always enjoyed him. He's so very talented. I just don't' think that he cared that much about being popular or "stardom".
Can't believe this song was written in 1990. Musicians back then actually had such a desire to create amazing music and melody as this song than compared to the musicians we have today. Now it's all just about sex, money, and drugs. Such a shame.
It's a shame that Nashville has turned into the joke that it is. Rodney Crowell, Dale Watson, and others with real talent can't get a true "break" while clowns like the one's you listed are get all the glory.
if country radio would play hits as this, it would make my day so much better. Rodney is the man for country hits. With Emmylou they are a killer team. Just watch ACL back some years. They were amazing. mos60
I believe its Steuart Smith strat, Tommy Spurlock pedal steel, Michael Rhodes bass. Piano ? drums ?. great country stuff. I'll take it every time. mos60
One of the best songwriters/singers of my generation. So many have had hits with his songs and it's easy to see why. His songs are jewels and poetry in motion. But I love his versions and voice. Love this video, and still get a kick at seeing Tony Brown at the piano, making those evil faces of his!
"If Looks Could Kill !" We men know all about that look when we really screw up. I messed up my marriage and the look in her eyes when she left cannot be explained. Missing her still.
This guy wrote so many great songs and is a great performer, so I can't understand why he never became as big a star as some of the other guys who have nowhere near his talent. Garth Brooks for instance. People have taste in their A-holes.
