Whom ever is playing the big ole hollow body Gibson is tearin' it UP ! ! Not to mention the overall production of this song. This was when country music found the bass drum : )
Thanks Rosanne for putting the Beatles on the country charts. John Lennon (R.I.P.) was the primary writer of this song and it has his trademark stamp of bittersweet longing. I like the tempo of this recording, it's a bit more upbeat than the original -- but no one else harmonizes like Lennon-McCartney, of course, and I still like their voices best on the bridge.
A great and appropriate cover. I've always thought that much of the "Beatles For Sale" album (amongst their other albums) has a Country & Western feel to it.
