This is my favorite Rupert Holmes Song off the Album 'Partners In Crime'.
Even though this is my favorite song off the album, it didn't make the charts in Australia. However the songs 'Escape (The Pina Colada Song)' and 'Him' were hits down under!
The song 'Nearsighted' is a beautiful ballad with brilliant lyrics! I wear glasses, and depending on your sense of humor, the lyrics are quite funny!
A funny line in the song is " I don't judge a book by its cover, hell I can't even read a book"!

this guy was fabulous - i lost track of him in the late 80's on. every piece on this album was magical! What knack he had for lyrics - original then and surely now. I miss the Rupert's of the magical 70's. He is of course still around and fairly big in the music the theater business. Way to go Rupert, I have everything you ever recorded and "and the music goes on and on".

Somebody out there find "The people you never get to love" byRupert - it is haunting, kind of starts you thinking about the whole idea and the 'what if's' if you know what I mean. He does it better than anyone ever did.
