One of those songs that I used to tune into on the radio in my VW Beetle during those glory days of the mid-70's, when I was young and in college and in love. Wow, what memories these tunes evoke; there was no decade for music like the '70's.
Here in the Midwest this song received a lot of airplay during the first quarter of 1977. One of my most favorite time periods. Next to last year of college. The fun times. And the women-I miss them!...
I heard this song yesterday playing on the radio in CVS. Haven't heard it in YEARS! I was singing to it out loud in the aisle, it was just so good. And Chaka Kahn brought it to the finish line perfectly.
Anyhow, thank you so much lozleo for this most enjoyable upload. And the pictures you put to it are magnificent!
Well she's kinda pretty, drives a big car too
And when I hold her in my arms, I never know what to do
She's got everything she needs, what does she need me for
Just a crazy fool comin' back for more
And I know she's no good
Can't blame her but I know I should
Everybody says a watch out boy
She'll break your heart like it was a toy
You better save it for a rainy day
You better save it for a rainy day
Well I'd leave in a minute if I only could
But when she touches me, it makes me feel so good
My heart's in her hand this is sure a mess
There's no way I say no, when she says yes, yes, yes
Take me, shake me
And tell me this ain't a dream
Everybody says a watch out boy
She'll break your heart like it was a toy
You better save it for a rainy day
You better save it for a rainy day
Save it for a rainy day
You better save it for a rainy day
You better save it, save it for a rainy day
You better save it, save it for a rainy day
You better save it, save it for a rainy day
You better save it, save it for a rainy day
You better save it, save it for a rainy day
You better save it, save it for a rainy day
You better save it, save it for a rainy day
You better save it, save it
Did you ever notice those great 70's soft rock Black diva backing vocals made these songs come alive, Robert John's "Sad Eyes", Seals & Crofts' "Get Closer To Me", just to name a few!
Well I'm, (choke) uh, 70. I have listened to Rock and Roll for a very long time now. This song ranks as one of my top ten ever, as it is really hard to beat Bish, who just happens to have Chaka singing with him, and a fairly good guitar player name of Eric Clapton playing alongside. Hello. What a great tune!
