you know that he s high
The animal nitrate in mind, now your animal s gone
Now your animal s gone, now he has gone
what turns you on
he jumped on your bones
It turns you on, what turns you on
And now you re taking it time after time, now your animal s gone Suede, now he has gone
what turns you on
he broke all your bones
And now you re taking it time after time, now you re over 21, and now you re taking it time after time
And now you re taking it time after time, now your animal s gone
And the delights of his chemical smile, what turns you on Nitrate, he d show you his bed
It turns you on, it turns you on
It turns you on, it turns you on
And the delights of his chemical smile, it turns you on, it turns you on
He broke all your bones, now he has gone
What turns you on, now your animal s gone
now he has gone
He jumped on your bones, and now you re taking it time after time Suede, now he has gone
He jumped on your bones, now you re over 21, so when he broke it home
now you re over 21
Now you re over 21, what turns you on Nitrate, now you re over 21
he d show you his bed
He jumped on your bones, now he has gone
what does it take to turn you on
Now you re over 21, now you re over 21, the accounts of home
Now you re over 21, and the delights of his chemical smile
And now you re taking it time after time, he d show you his bed
now your animal s gone
now he has gone
What does it take to turn you on, and now you re taking it time after time, the accounts of home
It turns you on, now he has gone
you know that he s high
Oh dear! I'm very nearly 40 years old and this brings back so many good memories. Think I was 16/17 when this was released in 1993, although I could be wrong (old age!) I must admit I was more into Grunge (Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney etc..) and industrial (ministry, NIN) but loved Suede anyway as they were one of the best new UK bands back then. Where the hell did the past 20 odd years go! Enjoy your youth while you can it goes quicker than you think!
Like his dad you know that he's had
Animal nitrate in mind
Oh in your council home he jumped on your bones
Now you're taking it time after time
Oh, what turns you on, oh?
Now he has gone
Oh, what turns you on, oh?
Now your animal's gone
Well he said he'd show you his bed
And the delights of the chemical smile
So in your broken home he broke all your bones
Now you're taking it time after time
Oh, what turns you on, oh?
Now he has gone
Oh, what turns you on, oh?
Now your animal's gone
What does it take to turn you on, oh?
Now he has gone
Now you're over twenty-one, oh
Now your animal's gone
Animal, he was animal, an animal, oh
Animal, he was animal, an animal, oh
Animal, animal, oh
He's just an animal, an animal oh
Animal, he was animal
He's just an animal, an animal oh
Animal, he was animal
He's just an animal, an animal oh
The video was filmed on my estate! The shot where the camera travels along the balcony and then into a door is my friends flat who lived down the balcony! We were at school when they shot and when we got home her mum told us a band had paid her a tenner to film the entrance to her doorway. I must admit at that time we were only about 12 years old and had no idea who they were but its nice to have this reminder!
Brett Anderson. That leather jacket. That midriff and hip roll. Ouch. I got my teenage kicks from this song and it still blows my mind. Your sex appeal is incredible.
There's this Bowie documentary where a couple of people who were teens at the time Ziggy first appeared on TOTP talk about how utterly flabbergasted they were at the sight of it all. This video had a similar effect on me when I first saw it as a wee 11 year old. So different from everything else that was on MTV at the time, I just couldn't take my eyes off of this wailing, gorgeous creature. Man? Woman? Life-sized doll? Heck if I knew, but I was absolutely hypnotized by it.
