My daughter was born, 3-09-1977. I named her, Jessica! When I brought her home, I put on the "Brothers and Sisters, " album, set the needle to, "Jessica" and welcomed her home!!
The love of my life and the most incredible person I've ever known, was named after this song. She died suddenly to heart failure last year. I listen to this song now and every note is a memory of her. To my love Jessica, your music still plays. Forever and always.
I have yet to write these guys a thank you song...
Back in 1986, I was born and my parents had planned on naming me Prudence...well in the car that day my dad heard this song on the radio...he thought to himself, “this song perfectly sums up the joy I feel as a new father and about my new baby girl..Jessica it is!!!” God bless the Allman Brothers!!! And yeah the DJ that chose this song at just the right time..
Dickey Betts said in a Rolling Stone Interview, this is the most difficult song he ever played..The way it came out, it speaks for the talent of the whole band...Butch Trucks said the same thing....and its a great song..listen to the tempo...its amazing..
