I was on a school trip to Lourdes in France last week and I must admit I had the time of my life and made lifelong friends. I had a moment where I woke up one morning, the sun was shining, the skies were clear, and I opened the curtains, listening to this song, took a breath in the air and realised I was truly at peace. After years of anxiety, I came to the belief that people do like me and that people do want to see me. What a moment that was.

Yep, I remember this song playing in a phone company commercial back in the day. No one else can play a haunting guitar melody like Vini Reilly.

In case anyone is wondering, the vocal samples come from Otis Redding's "Pain in my Heart" and Tracy Chapman's "Behind the Wall".

The opening lines of Otis were once used in an AT&T commercial and featured Tom Selleck doing voiceover.

As if the still air transformed into the smoky trance of a nightfloor.

This song is so beautiful, its hard to believe that this is a real song.

Everytime I'm depressed or mentally exhausted, I hear this song. Then suddenly I turn a smile on and I'm happy to be living.

The day i discovered this song i took a really long ride on a bus the sky was orange, full of clouds and the night was falling in a very slowly and beautiful way, i started thinking about my dreams and future, im only 20 years old, and damn i haven’t achieve any of them or even started them but this song gives me hope, cause in that bus ride almost 6 months ago i promise myself im gonna make it.
