I was fortunate to get to meetand spend Tommy before a small show he did he let my play his guitar and talked to me for quite a while, i can you tell you this guy is not only the greatest living guitar players but one the nicest and most sincere human beings. The wrold needs more people like him, humble gracious and talent beyond measure

is the title Smokey Mountain based to the huge landfill in Philippines?

I just saw Tommy Emmanuel in Montgomery, Alabama on Sept. 26, 2012, & while I knew that seeing this man perform live would be wonderful, I had no idea that it would be the absolutely astonishing & magical experience it was. His IMMENSE artistry & talent plus engaging personality of such warmth & charm (humor, too) make him the most captivating & phenomenal musician I've ever seen. I was glad that Smokey Mountain Lullaby was part of the repertoire ~ made me cry. Thanks for sharing your gift w/us!

I would echo what Teri Frazier said. We saw Tommy early this year (1913). I was hoping he would play Somewhere over the Rainbow, and he did. The lady sitting next to me gave me a nudge - she knew I wanted to hear it. I was surprised that I didn't cry, but just sat there smiling. I have since found this song and the Mts. of Illinois which I like even better, and they both bring tears of sheer joy.

A great, great player playing a signature Chet Atkins tune. What could be better? Way to go Tommy.
