Some day, when I’m awfully low,
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you…
And the way you look tonight.
Yes you’re lovely, with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft,
There is nothing for me but to love you,
And the way you look tonight.
With each word your tenderness grows,
Tearing my fear apart…
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose,
It touches my foolish heart.
Lovely … never, ever change.
Keep that breathless charm.
Won’t you please arrange it?
'cause I love you … just the way you look tonight.
Mm, mm, mm, mm,
Just the way you look to-night.
Tony Bennett may just have the greatest version of this tune. I can only defer to Sinatra's 60's version.Yet there is a place for both. Sinatra's version is Swing and Tony's is a Ballad. So I am divided. They are both great performances!
For me Tony's version is the best. He's so underestimated in his vocal ability. The man is in his eighties and his voice is still like velvet. That's a rare gift. Don't ever stop Tony
The Way You Look Tonight
Someday when I'm awfully low
When the world is cold
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight
Oh, but your lovely
With your smile so warm and your cheek so soft
There is nothing for me, but to love you
Just the way you look tonight
With each word your tenderness grows
Tearing my fear apart
And that laugh, that wrinkles your nose
It touches my foolish heart
Lovely, never never change
Keep that breathless charm
Won't you please arrange it because I, I love you?
Just the way you look tonight
Just the way you look tonight
