want to be me
so what if i dye my hair
Want to be me, i m gonna be free, i m gonna be free
i m going to be free
Don t want someone living my life for me want to be free, i ve still got a brain up there, scream and shout
I ve still got a brain up there, blow up the tv, don t want someone living my life for me want to be free
Scream and shout, being very loud Free, i m going to walk the streets
tear down the wallpaper
and all live our dreams
Don t want someone living my life for me want to be free, blow up the car
being very loud
we should live and let live
i m going to walk the streets
don t want to be sweet and neat
being very loud
scream and shout
i m gonna be free
I m going to walk the streets, tear up the carpet
i m going to crawl through the alleyways
I m gonna be free, i m going to crawl through the alleyways Free, we ve got rid of that
being very loud
i m going to turn suburbia upside down
Loved this song and the artist. i stopped at a cashpoint when i moved to a new town and heard beside me a distinctive voice coming from the next building. i looked around and there she was still barely over 5 foot in her thigh boots. it wouldn't have been so bad but as i got back in my car hazel o connor came on my stereo
"So what if I dye my hair, I've still got a brain up there".
Brilliant.
I was only about 9 years old when i first saw this video and it is "exactly" how i remember it. Toyah was such a childhood inspiration and still is. What an amazing video and performance.
I'm still quoting Toyah lyrics even today and aren't i lucky to make the first comment.
Fantastic.
"so what if i dye my haid? I've still got a brain up there!" is one of my favorite lyrics of all time. It's so relevant and powerful. Toyah is amazing.
