I’m trying hard to somehow frame a reply
Pictures, I’ve got pictures, and I run them in my head
When I can’t sleep at night
Looking out at the white world and the Moon
I feel a soft exchange taking place
Merging with the people on the trains
Whirling my face in conversation
Slow motion
Slow motion
Hush, can you feel the trees so far away?
Hush, can you feel the breeze of another day?
When we held each other close in the night
While we wheeled away in our own light
Stepping sideways into our own time
Such a simple way
Slow motion
Slow motion
And we held each other close in the night
While we wheeled away in our own light
And some of us from another time
And drifted away
Slow motion
Slow motion
Wow!
Been a fan of Midge for a while
I listened to the first two Foxx-era albums and tbh I thought they were just okay
But this...
This is probably better than Vienna!
This album was Ultravox's apex, never were they to sound so good, so relevant, so crucial.
I bought this album when it came out and still mesmerizes me even know and 'Just for a moment' still gives me chills. This album was Ultravox's swansong.
Nothing better when you've just got home from your boring office job, made a coffee, rolled a nice big bifda, sparked it up and whacked this one on... Aaawwweeesssooommmee!
I'm on a failing mission to persuade all those people who believe that the "mature", 1980s style Ultravox sound started abruptly with Midge Ure. Midge is great and certainly added al lot but this track and this album prove that Messrs Currie and Co had already reached that music before Midge joined.
One of the highlights of last year for me, was seeing Massive Attack cover "ROckWrok". They've been using the sample since "Mezzanine", but seeing them do it in full, just lit me up.
