Being a 13 year old myself, I've tried so hard to get people to actually listen to this sort of music, as I also believe that if people actually listened, they would find something there. People like Justin Bieber will never leave behind a legacy like James'. In 30 years time, people will have forgotten all these pop stars but Elmore James will always remain a hero of the blues. R.I.P. Elmore.
A.k.A Bobby's Rock. I can play this note for note just like Elmore - and i sound just like him ! No fancy vintage guitar or pick up, no vintage amp. Its all about getting the tone and technique right. I'v studded and played his style ever since i hears Jeremy Spencer of Fleetwood Mac back in the 60's.
Oh, yeah. He sounds so good on many of his tracks. I can't believe it was that long ago...and he had to figure out how to make the guitar, amps, use electricity...all from scratch. Thanks for commenting. I do appreciate it so, Moppet
Whoever disliked this clearly goes and listens to pop ballads whichall sound the same in his spare time. I'm glad that some people still appreciate music with soul and swing. Thanks for uploading this.
Thank You for your wonderful comment. So insightful AND true. I wish the younger people could listen. I think they'd enjoy. Had a 'disagreement' with a 61 year old. He said he enjoyed the videos of Robert Johnson w/Eric Clapton et al. I explained there were only 2 known photos of him (3.I was wrong) & didn't think they had electricity then.He was acknowledged as father of electric blues. I said Elmore James got that honor. It's not just kids. It's ppl!!! This guy is a 'blues' musician, Moppet
