I want you, I said, I want you
I can’t stand it alone on my own
I want you
I need you, I said, I need you
And I hope that you need me too
I want you
I want you, I said, I want you
I can’t stand it alone on my own
I want you
Chris Britton was and always has been one of my biggest guitar influences and I made it a point to put Troggs songs on the set list of every band I ever played in. Chris's pounding percussive strumming was positively hypnotic to me and his influence is still very apparent in my playing to this day.He is still a giant among rock guitarists."I Want You" has always been a standout song,Chris's guitar playing in this song was years ahead of its time.
This are the Real Troggs....As Pure as Possible !
So unbelievable Male Sexy ! You have to listen to the sound of the guitars...so simplistic, so real stuff !
That guitar tone and Reg's growl are just downright dangerous. And this was the early 60's. MC5's cover was good but this original version will always be king.
They were so real and they couldn't be widely appreciated because of it, but they garnered a specific, heady, rebellious fanbase and their music helped influence a lot budding punk rockers for decades to come.
