Because Christ came down and conquered death and the grave, we don't have to understand the why. We'll find out one day. We only need to believe it happened and the Great Gift given to us as a result of His suffering.
I love how they point out Mary and Joseph were just ordinary people not gods or goddesses not worthy to be praised, they are not the saviors. Jesús alone is! He is worthy!!
This is indeed a testimony to the higher ways of God. The only shame is that this message is not really observed over the holidays. God help us see the fullness of the Christmas story, and to be changed through it!
All our lives we've confronted the message we're not good enough; we don't deserve love; we are nobody.
God chose an ordinary girl to give birth to our Lord. He chose Joseph, an ordinary and humble man, to love and be with her. God brings out the extraordinary in ordinary people who think they are worthless.
In the eyes of God, we are each his unique children worthy of much more than we ever thought. Such love. Such hope. Such beauty He brings into our lives....
The first time I heard this song was when I was expanding my library of Christian tunes for Christmas, and 4Him is one of my favorite bands, so it got my attention. It constantly reminds me of those verses in 1st Corinthians chapter 1 where Paul writes how he won't let mankind glory in His presence because a perfect loving Father humbles Himself to get where we were in our broken state.
I often have a hard time getting through this song,.....and I thank God for the talent He's given Mark Harris and Don Kock (pronounced cook) for their creative writing process.
