I'm almost sure my Dad must have named me after this cool cat. I was born in 1957, my Dad Ben L Neece Rocked electric way back in the early 50s, had a Texas swing band called Ben Neece and the rio grand cowboys down in Brownsville, Tx. He built his own Amps, Had a Buetiful less paul and Jamed on the KBOR. thanks for the vid's man!
Beautiful music and that dreamy face. I could imagine David Lynch using this gorgeous song in a scene where he carries the narrative back to a simpler time to offset his nightmare worlds.Anyway, the guitar is magnificent.
This was a great record in 1959 and so good to hear it again on Utube. It's a pity that this number is not available on cd with the same original sound as I can only find remastered versions.
GOD I MISS YOU APRIL LEE, the night you died your spirit came to me and we wanted to dance again, this is our song Lady Friend so dance with me my darling, I will be their one day and I swear I will find you, we will dance across the star system
YOUR "GREEN BERET" LOVE FOREVER
It is an irony for me.
This was one of the first tunes I fell in love with as a young tot of 5 or 6.
I was born in 1958 and lived much of my life as a "lonely one".(and an only child)
I never knew the words or facts of this recording until I was a teenager.
Oh man, does this ever take me back to the hours and hours I spent listening to Duane's albums on a scratchy old portable record player!! You really gave this recording a wonderful sound.....thanks so much!
I wasn't even thought of when this came out.
I got into listening to Duane eddy when I was 5.
the first tune I heard of him was
Angel on my shoulder.
from the album twangy guitar silky string.
that was my dad's. the then I got my first guitar at the age of 8
Very good tune I had forgotten from about 50 years of not hearing it. I clicked on it just by chance and now I remember it is from 1959 the year I became a teenager.
