I’m walking on air
For I left all my blue days behind
I’ve learned how
And there’s love, really love, on my mind
I’m the world’s most happy creature
Tell me what can worry be?
I’m crazy 'bout my baby
Baby is crazy 'bout me
Mr. Cupid was our teacher
That’s the reason we agree
I’m crazy 'bout my baby
Papa get that book out
Ready in your hand
Keep a steady look out
So you can understand
It’s an A-one combination
With a perfect he and she
I’m crazy 'bout my baby
Baby is crazy 'bout me
I like the slower version much better than the fast one. I remember hearing this song when I was 8 or 9. And being totally enchanted... it is a lovely song. The piano, the rumble of his voice! Fantastic!
I wonder just how many recordings he made of this? It's among my very favorite Waller songs and I'd swear I've heard at least 5 different recordings of it--but that's the charm about Waller's recordings. Thanks so very much for sharing it!
This was recorded and edited to make it sound 'good' like the piano is a full band, and fats waller sings along with it.
In actuality, a live grand or upright piano and voice like that doesnt sound like that and wouldnt get any attention today. People would just walk by cause they've got rock and roll and hip hop in the back of their minds - it produces a better beat than a piano ever would
Sis called me, they are on their way to medical appointment for mom. Mom just needs to be well and have fun again. Sis Gloria tok. Sis Manda is too much, a lot of fun, going through some changes too but it'll work out, especially listening to songs like this will have you believing and feeling this way. 8/7/19. (Wed.) 1:59 p.m.
Never saw an early photo of him. Nice. My sister Gloria danced in elementary school to his song, "your feets too big." Thinking about my boyfriend, he's been on my mind, falsely incarcerated at Riker's. Hope he can be released very soon and enjoy life and good times and do good in the world. 8/7/19. (Wed.) 12:55 p.m.
Thank you! Tis is the same version I used to listen to when I was a teenager. If you have the album ( with the Little Chocolate Dandies!) please post! Hahah! One minute it was Jethro Tull, the next moment was Fats Waller!!
