I love the backgrounds and solo at 1:05. And everything else about this song. Seriously perfect. God.

Wow! Took me well over a year and a half to realize that the trumpet soloist was alluding to King Oliver's "Dipper Mouth Blues"!

Stupid comment about Bix and Tram. Different style altogether. They (including Louis) are all jazz greats equally.

In the famous "battle of the bands" between Bix & Tram in the Goldkette Orchestra and Henderson's band at the Roseland, even Rex Stewart, who took over Armstrong's chair that year, agreed the "those little white boys kicked our xxxxx"." So Bix and the boys could hold their own with anyone.

Very good early jazz, featuring "Satchmo". I am very fortunate to have ownership of an original 78 of this.

There are many recordings of the Sugar Foot Stomp but I have always liked this one the best.

One of the greatest hot jazz orchestra recordings ever made. Youn Louis Armstrong is unmistakable. Listen to is a couple of times to really appreciate it.

such an historic recording , a direct nod to back to King Oliver only two years earlier but also helped immensely by the fact that it is one of the first Fletcher Henderson electronic (i.e. with microphones) recordings.
