One of my favorite tunes by the late, great Moacir Santos, o "ouro negro" do Brasil. Just found out Horace Silver did this version of the tune. Idk how I'm just finding that out cuz I've seen this album dozens of times. I've even scanned through it.

You used to be able to hear music like this played LIVE in a hotel lounge! those days are gone! Long gone!

One of the few "covers" that sound better than the original by Moacir dos Santos.  My band preferred the bass line on this cover.

Horace hardly recorded other people's stuff. Interesting! When think that I liked about him is he wasn't afraid to let the other instruments take the forefront in his music with him in the background holding it all together specially the horns.
