Oh my God this piece is so beautiful..... that I feel as though I'm about to start crying.... it touches something deep down within.... your very soul... Piercingly sweet..... melancholy is the feeling I get hearing this.... as a matter of fact, this is my first time hearing this number, and you bet..... that it won't be the last time...... thank you so much for this timeless, most beautiful musical journey.....
One of those brilliant Horace Silver tunes that works directly on the endocrine system and slows your heartbeat to a zen-like crawl, essential after a days Christmas shopping.
I don't know what to say. I fell in love with jazz & blues through hip hop (yes a large portion of hip hop is incredibly rooted in jazz). Though particular jazzy hip hop songs are critiqued with just being samples I feel that that kind of hip hop is a style of re-portraying jazz. Or maybe it's just an aesthetic I'm familiar with but a shout-out Madlib, re-interpreting this song on a track called flowers
A sleepless, jazz night. Horace Silver, May you be well. May you be happy. May you be peaceful. May you be free from suffering. Thank you for the art and mastering music to soothe my mind tonight and maybe nights to come. Thank you for your gift. Rest in peace.
