Groovy. With sitar touches. A certain Beatles influence along with Di Ross. Well it’s certainly not the stones. A great time for music. Downhill since

Jerry Butler is a fine singer and a wonderfully civic-minded person. I admire him and he is an esteemed role-model, ( no matter what cultural-community one belongs). Additionally, this song didn't receive all the accolades it deserved. As posted by KTAO806, I too, listened to this groove on AM-590: KFXM and AM-1290: KMEN out of San Bernardino, California. Back in the day, in Southern California's Inland Empire, these two rockers dominated an ever-burgeoning teen-market in this region. Legendary KHJ; KRLA; KFWB;--among others'-- signals didn't reach the IE very well at night, from Los Angeles. Therefore, in the Riverside-San Bernardino market, these were the stations that the kids' loved.

Im gonna stay in this time warp and never leave is ther anyone else that feel the same way? Feel sorry for this younger generation they have nothing of substance to hold on to 70 years from now people will still be listening to the temptations jerry butler mamas. And papas Beatles the list goes on and on!! Thank god I grew up during this time!!

Who cares where it ended up on the chart. Great record - full stop. The 'B' side is 'Brand new me' - surely one of the BEST double siders of all time?

When we could, in Viet Nam 1969, we would listen to "The Ice Man" out of Saigon.
