I grew up from early 60s on with my dad playing this on the Victrola. Even today my dad at almost 90 years old likes that Skynard version and is pretty certain Jimmie would have as well, But my dad saw Elvis and Johnny Cash open a show for Jim Reeves in 1953 so how ya gonna argue with that

If you all have a chance visit the Jimmie Rodgers Musuem in Meridian Mussissipii. Just an awesome place.......they have his guitar there got chills when I saw it and had my picture taken with it next to me.....just awesome

Takes me back, way back.  We listened to his recordings in the 40's and 50's.  He had passed away by then but his music lives on.  He was one of Merle's idols.  Love his music still another great talent on the same sounds of Hank, Sr.
