Yes, the Yardbirds version was the first I ever heard, but I love the rawness and sensuality of this original. This is the one I sing.

I LOVE this song. It was the Yardbirds version that bought me back here. I love that twangy reverb. Way cool!

As much as I love Elvis, I think he overshadows Burnette's talent. Johnny deserves more recognition.

That solo and Bettie Page at the same time is enough to cause me to pass out from loss of blood flow to the brain.

People can argue for eternity over who was playing the guitar licks on this fantastic tune, But I will tell you who it is not playing on this version; it is not any of The Yardbirds or Aerosmith. This one is to be remembered, burn the rest.

a remarkable record......sounds more raw and fresher than anything that's out there - whatever year you happen to listen to it

Jimmy Page brought me here. I love how music has roots and goes back in time.

For all you musical historians out there Paul Burlison wasn't the guitar player on this recording and wasn't on a lot of Johnny's tracks. The guy who did play guitar on them was a session player called Grady Martin. In my opinion for what its worth Burlison was a very average play and when The Rock N Roll Trio went into the studio for the first time the producer decided that Burlison wasn't good enough and brought in Mr Martin.... Grady also played for lots of other artists of the time, i.e Buddy Holly, Don Woody etc, etc. Also the guitar amplifier that he used was the same amp used in the studio by the legendary Cliff Gallup on all those great Gene Vincent hits...Hope you've enjoyed your rock n roll history lesson...lol. Cheers Dave.
