Loved Lonnie and his band as a kid. My mum used to play the records while she was doing the housework (my old mans a dust man was me favourite!) Mum died suddenly aged 33 in 1967, Lonnies songs brings her back for me

'Love this.  Good, old Lonnie Donegan.   Hero of Beatles, and so many others.  I loved it when this song was on a "Heartbeat" episode.

Listened to this on the B.B.C.Light programme.I accompanied it using my mother's washboard and a thimble. Fair play I was only 9.

Pure genious. I remember in the 1950's as a kid when he drove his Rolls Royce past our council house in Tarbock Road, Speke, Liverpool to go and pick up his girlfriend who lived in the tenaments. We all used to run out to see his posh car. Puttin on the style LOLZ!
