Well if it wasn't for pirating I probably wouldn't have started listening to Lanegan. I still like a physical album with liner notes, accompanying musicians (especially with Lanegan and Waits, but in general as well), and credits, but free distribution of music is actually what's keeping the business alive.

FYI: Drake + Rihanna covered Gil, after Gil covered Mark Lanegan, who covered it from Elvis Costello, who covered it from Van Morrsion, who covered the original. Long story short - the original was written by Brook Benton and sang by Bobby Bland in 1959.

Mark's a genius. a vocalist for many generations, songwriter extraordinaire, busy as anything, a back catalogue many would die for & his collaborations have given him to fans of many types of music. his stuff with Soulsavers is *chef's kiss*. what am i saying? he could sing a dictionary & it'd be the best. :D
