I’ve been struggling with emotional pain for the past couple months and doing things to myself that nobody should do. Yesterday my girlfriend called me and told me that one of my best friends died. He killed himself. This was one of our favorite songs, and he introduced it to me. A few years back i was stuck in my home town in GA, ended up losing where I was staying, the girl I was seeing and my job in the span of two days. Ended up getting a pack on craigslist and went off to hitchhike to CO. Had a friend drop me off on the side of the road out in the boonies and I started my long walk. After the first bend this song came on my head phones and I remember just crying my eyes out, feeling the weight of those past years slide off of me and all the potential of a new adventure in front of me. This song always hits me hard.
