Most don't even know this version exists. Wonderful song, great band and definitely one of my favorites. Very important in rock history! I'm so glad I found Mott early and have enjoyed them since my youth. I hope everyone discovers them eventually...

Glad to hear someone who knows the truth about the origins of this song and why Ralphs left to form Bad Company with Paul Rodgers. You are 100% correct on all counts. IF Ian Hunter and Mick Ralphs could have stayed together then Mott the Hoople would have become huge. I like Mott's version of this song so much better, but then again I'm a long-time, die hard Mott the Hoople fan.

Kinda has the same guitar feel as "Fire and Water" by Free especially in the chorus. Love this song!

My Band, Seminole Jackson and the Dixie Blues, got thrown out of a country club for doing a mash-up of the original Mott the Hoople, and later Bad Co. version of Ready for Love/After Lights. "AND YOU'LL NEVER PLAY HERE AGAIN!" Good times .. classic.
