A lot of people are surprised this was written by the late, great (and I emphasize the word great) Otis Redding. The song was released posthumously. It was written and recorded shortly before he perished in that damn plane so he never really got to do it live. Damn shame really, because this tune and Dock of the Bay would have been showstoppers in his set had he lived.. It can bring a tear to my eye when I think of how he was taken from us too early.
Courtney Hadwin's performance made me want to hear the original, which I thought was the Black Crowes but now I'm here. I think this is better than the Black Crowes but Hadwin's was awesome too.
